1. In case you missed it, there was a landlord who put a “Whites Only” sign up for the apartment complexes pool. The landlord claimed she put it up because the chemicals that an African American girl used in her hair would make the pool cloudy. And we all know it is easier to discriminate based on skin color than to clean a pool every now and then. The sign was apparently an antique- Hein told the commission she received the sign from a friend, and Ronnell Tomlinson, the commission’s housing enforcement director, said at Thursday’s hearing it was an antique.
