The landlord claimed she put it up because the chemicals that an African American girl used in her hair would make the pool cloudy. And we all know it is easier to discriminate based on skin color than to clean a pool every now and then. The sign was apparently an antique- Hein told the commission she received the sign from a friend, and Ronnell Tomlinson, the commission’s housing enforcement director, said at Thursday’s hearing it was an antique. The sign says “Selma, Ala.,” at the bottom, followed by the date “14 July 31.” Did the landlord not think that a sign from 1931 Alabama wouldn’t be the best representation of racial sensitivity?  elomeli714: I thought humans were past things of this nature….
